Titanized polypropylene mesh

A lightweight (~16 g/m²), macroporous monofilament polypropylene mesh with a covalently bonded titanium surface layer, supplied flat and trimmable to the defect size, for sutured tension-free repair.

How it is used

Open (Lichtenstein-type) inguinal hernia repair, placed over the posterior wall of the inguinal canal.

Clinical tip

A comparative study found shorter convalescence with the lightweight titanium-coated mesh than with a heavier standard polypropylene mesh.
