Stieglitz forceps
Long, narrow forceps with fine serrated jaws and a ratchet lock, straight or angled at 45°.
How it is used
Removal of foreign bodies (splinters, glass, metal) and broken instrument fragments from soft tissue, and retrieval of material inside narrow canals.
Clinical tip
Unlike a conventional dissecting forceps, the ratchet lock lets it stay clamped while the other hand works.
