Operating table (electrohydraulic base unit)
A table with an electrohydraulic column and a sectioned tabletop, usually radiolucent along its full length, allowing X-rays or C-arm use without repositioning the patient; it allows roughly ±30° Trendelenburg/reverse-Trendelenburg and longitudinal tabletop shift, with wireless remote control and a backup battery.
How it is used
Supports and positions the patient during any surgical procedure, with the ability to change position intraoperatively (e.g. Trendelenburg in laparoscopy, lateral tilt in renal surgery).
Clinical tip
The tabletop must remain fully radiolucent (no metal parts under the area of interest) to allow image intensification or C-arm use without moving the patient.
