Fluid collection pouch drape

A sterile drape incorporating an integrated plastic pouch with a drainage outlet or tubing port, designed to be positioned below the surgical site.

How it is used

Used in procedures involving continuous fluid irrigation (arthroscopy, hysteroscopy, transurethral resection) to capture excess irrigation fluid runoff and direct it via tubing to a suction system or collection container, preventing pooling on the floor or drapes.

Clinical tip

Connecting the pouch outlet to suction and tracking collected volume is important for calculating fluid deficit, which is especially critical in hysteroscopy to avoid fluid overload (irrigation fluid absorption syndrome).
