Scott retractor
Ring-shaped retractor with elastic straps that anchor to the edges of the penoscrotal incision and hold it in place without an assistant.
How it is used
Keeps the corpora cavernosa and scrotum exposed during penoscrotal penile prosthesis implantation.
Clinical tip
Dr. F. Brantley Scott introduced it in 1973 alongside the first inflatable prosthesis; disposable versions are sold today as the Wilson (Coloplast) and SKW (Boston Scientific) retractors.
