Foam sclerotherapy kit (Tessari technique)
Two-syringe system connected via a three-way stopcock that, by agitation (Tessari technique), mixes a liquid sclerosant (polidocanol) with air to generate an injectable microfoam.
How it is used
Ultrasound-guided sclerosis of truncal or reticular varicose veins.
Clinical tip
The Tessari technique produces smaller bubbles than the simple double-syringe technique, and cooling the foam prolongs its half-life.
