Ellik evacuator
A double-chamber, hourglass-shaped bulb syringe (glass or plastic) with a rubber bulb, connected to the resectoscope sheath.
How it is used
Evacuates resected prostate or bladder-tumour chips, clots and debris from the bladder at the end of a TURP or transurethral bladder tumour resection.
Clinical tip
Fragments settle by gravity, so small or low-density chips can stay afloat and go uncollected, check carefully before assuming the bladder is empty.
