McIndoe scissors

Sturdy dissecting scissors with triangular blades and a blunt tip, available straight or curved-on-flat.

How it is used

Used in plastic and reconstructive surgery to cut and dissect tougher tissue than the Metzenbaum scissors can handle (cartilage, tendon, thick fascia, skin flap edges), in situations where the Mayo scissors would be too coarse for precise contouring.

Clinical tip

The curved-on-flat profile lets the blade follow the contour of a flap or cartilage graft without having to rotate the wrist.
