Clampless proximal seal system
Single-use device with a balloon/coil-shaped obturator inserted through a small aortotomy, creating a hemostatic seal against the aortic wall so the surgeon can hand-sew the graft-to-aorta anastomosis without a side-biting clamp.
How it is used
Proximal anastomoses in CABG, specifically to reduce aortic manipulation and the associated embolic stroke risk; distinct from the already-catalogued distal anastomosis (the coronary end of the graft).
