Heart valve sizer
A set of cylindrical pieces in different sizes, often color-coded, mounted on an interchangeable handle, that mirror the dimensions of the available prosthetic valves.
How it is used
It is introduced into the native valve annulus, after the diseased valve has been excised, to precisely determine the size of the prosthesis (mechanical or biological) to be implanted.
