Laryngoscope (handle + blade)
Handle with a light and interchangeable blade (curved Macintosh or straight Miller) to visualize the glottis.
How it is used
Orotracheal intubation: displaces the tongue and epiglottis to view the vocal cords before inserting the tube.
Clinical tip
The Macintosh blade is placed in the vallecula (in front of the epiglottis); the Miller lifts the epiglottis directly.
