Comedone extractor
A thin metal instrument with a small loop or hole at each end, designed to apply controlled pressure around a skin lesion.
How it is used
Used to extract comedones, milia, and keratotic plugs by applying even pressure that expels their contents without traumatizing the surrounding skin.
Clinical tip
The lesion should be pre-incised with a fine needle when the stratum corneum is too resistant for the extractor to work alone.
