Agris-Dingman dissector
A long (about 30 cm), curved, blunt-tipped manual dissector with a flattened, non-cutting tip, designed to advance through breast or retropectoral tissue without cutting it.
How it is used
Used in augmentation mammaplasty to bluntly create and enlarge the subglandular or submuscular pocket that will hold the implant, delineating its margins by tactile control.
Clinical tip
Blunt dissection with this instrument reduces bleeding from direct cutting, but an overly wide or asymmetric pocket dissection is a recognized cause of implant malposition.
