Left ventricular (LV) vent cannula
Small-caliber cannula (via the right superior pulmonary vein, LV apex, or pulmonary artery) connected to the bypass pump's sump/vent suction line.
How it is used
Decompresses the left ventricle during cardioplegic arrest/bypass to keep it empty and prevent distension; distinct from the already-catalogued venous cannula, cardioplegia cannula, and cardiotomy suction.
